Nagekeo, East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic in Nagekeo, ActSEA, supported by an Atlantic Institute
Solidarity Grant and generous donations from individuals from the region, provided critical relief
to healthcare workers, frontliners, and the public.
Coordinating closely with Dinas Kesehatan Nagekeo (the health department) and other government
agencies to coordinate the response, ActSEA contributed to the overall response in the following
ways:
Worked tailors trained by Yayasan Sao Mere to produce reusable fabric masks for distribution to the public.
Purchased and distributed 28 boxes of surgical masks and 800 cloth masks to the public hospital (Nagekeo Regional Hospital) and public health centers in seven sub-districts where medical supplies were low.
Constructed two handwashing facilities in Pasar Danga (Danga Market) and Rumah Sakit Daerah Aeramo (Aeramo Hospital).
Donated handwashing equipment, hand sprayers for disinfectants, and thermoguns to Setya Budi Maunori Catholic Private School and Maunori Catholic Elementary School.
Organized a webinar on “Food Security Policies for Health Protocols and the Handling of COVID-19 in Nagekeo District” (available on YouTube).
